Theme:Create. Capacitate. Collaborate. Connect: Driving Global Sustainability through Multidisciplinary Research and Extension
The Four Cs of the Office of Research, Extension and Training of Sorsogon State University: Create, Capacitate, Collaborate, and Connect encompass its commitment to 1. Create: produce new knowledge and technology along the identified areas of specialization that will impact the community it serves; 2. Capacitate: ensure human resource development and provision of facilities to transform ideas into innovative products, processes, and services; 3. Collaborate: optimize partnership and cooperation between and among stakeholders attuned with the triple helix of innovation to foster social economic development and sustainability; and 4. Connect: share derived knowledge and technology in any mode after its protection to maximize its potential of utilization benefiting the immediate community and industries.
With a steadfast commitment to internationalization, SorSU is gearing up to host the 2nd Southeast Asian Multidisciplinary Research Expo and Extension Conference in 2025. Following its triumphant launch in 2023, the 2nd SEAMREEC aims to reunite researchers and extensionists in the heart of Sorsogon during its Gayon Ciudad festival in June 2025, offering the warm hospitality of Sorsoganons and an exceptional international conference experience. The international conference aims to facilitate knowledge exchange among faculty and scholars from various higher education institutions (HEIs) within the country. Additionally, it seeks to foster partnerships between higher education institutions across ASEAN countries. Furthermore, this academic gathering will enhance social and cultural awareness among participants, promoting respect for cultural diversity while encouraging pride in one’s identity, culture, and contributions to this academic\ exchange
Objectives
SEAMREEC 2025 aims to:
a. provide platforms for faculty, scholars, and educators to engage in the academic exchanges of scientific knowledge and innovations, and practical approaches
b. strengthen the linkages and collaboration of SorSU and other HEIs in Southeast Asia through the sharing of research
c. engage in the academic sharing of knowledge and practices as produced by the researchers in the different disciplines
d. establish academic engagements with different SUCs and HEIs in the country and Asia which would generate strategic partnerships in the academe
e. create a mechanism in response to the internationalization policy framework for HEIs in the country
f. promote Sorsogon as a promising tourist destination in the Philippines
