Dr. Dessy Aliandrina

Founder and Executive Director of Sociopreneur Indonesia

Topic: “Empowering Sustainable Sociopreneurship: Creating Impact Through Educational Innovation in Southeast Asia”

Dessy, an engineer by training, specializes in human-centered design and aviation
safety, focusing on human contributions to system failures. She earned her Ph.D.
from Lincoln University, New Zealand, further deepening her expertise in
integrating people, technology, and society. With over 20 years of experience
across Waste to Energy, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Tourism, Agriculture,
Education, and Aviation, she combines technical expertise with a passion for
volunteerism.
In 2013, Dessy helped establish Indonesia’s earliest Entrepreneurship Degree at
Surya University and addressed gaps in higher education by founding a Student
Club, to solve the gap through entrepreneurship education and social innovation.
Later the Club evolved into Sociopreneur Indonesia (SociopreneurID) in 2018.
Her contributions earned her numerous recognitions, including the Asia Pacific
Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year 2024 (ACEEU), the Global Youth Icon Award,
and the 2019 Meaningful Business 100 Leader (MB100).
Currently, Dessy leads Sociopreneur Indonesia, heads UNESCO EE-Net Indonesia,
and co-chairs ASEAN Catalyst Now.
